  Biographical Sketch
  
  Nanco Dolman is leading professional in Water Resilient Cities at Royal HaskoningDHV with a MSc in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology (1998) and a BLA in landscape architecture from Amsterdam Academy of Architecture (2008). From 2011 to 2016 Nanco was part time lecturer Adaptive Urban Development at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. Internationally recognized as front runner in Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD), Nanco is specialized in bridging water resilient design and engineering. Currently Nanco is the Water Sensitive City expert for the EU Interreg funded research-project CATCH; 'water sensitive Cities: the Answer To CHallenges of extreme weather events', in the North Sea Region.

How can we benchmark climate action and navigate in climate adaptation pathways? Inspired by the ‘Water Sensitive City’ approach, a www-based dashboard is being developed in the EU-Interreg CATCH project that can primarily support small and medium sized cities to become water resilient and climate adaptive. Within the CATCH-project, a partnership of seven ‘early adaptor’ cities in the North Sea region is established, which already gained experience in developing adaptation measures. They acknowledge the need of integrative decision support tool that is applicable for midsize cities to assist in taking the right strategic decisions and to develop tailor made, long term adaptation strategies.
