Biographical Sketch
André studied Physics and Technology and Policy at the University of Technology in Eindhoven. He started his career as a consultant in the field of Energy savings and Renewable Energy at Ecofys. He became director of the Energy Agency Amsterdam Reduces CO2-emissions. Together with the city districts of Amsterdam, he stimulated and realized renewable energy and energy efficiency. During that time, he got his degree in Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Twente.
At Waternet André works on strategic issues and integrated long-term solutions within the water cycle. He develops policy and projects to upgrade waste water into new materials. From 2012 he also manages the R&D program Waternet Climate Neutral in 2020 and from 2016 also the Corporate Social Responsibility Program. Together with the Port of Amsterdam and the waste to energy company AEB he started Clean Capital to upgrade waste streams. International experience with building partnerships and long / middle term cooperation (Singapore, New York, Paris Refugee camp Jordan, Copenhagen, US, Brazil, Indonesia). In 2018 he started a co-creation program with different stakeholders from the municipality, energy company and Waternet. The result is a completely new governance approach as a first step to a circular economy.

Biographical Sketch
Roelof Kruize is CEO of Waternet, the Public Watercycle organization of the Amsterdam region. Waternet is responsible for drinking water, wastewater, groundwater, surface water and safety behind the dikes. It is a joint executive service run by the City of Amsterdam and the regional public water authority Amstel, Gooi and Vecht.
At the agricultural university of Wageningen, Kruize studied environmental control and specialized in wastewater treatment. After various functions for the City of Amsterdam, in 1997 he became member of the board of directors of one of the predecessors of Waternet and then in 2002 he became CEO. From 2008 to 2012 he was the combined CEO of Waternet and the Waste to Energy Company of the city of Amsterdam.
Kruize is involved in many national and international activities. He is president of the Royal Dutch Waternetwerk and the Dutch representative for the International Water Association (IWA). He was also formerly president of the European Water Association and, in 2003, he was elected government manager of the year in the Netherlands.

Biographical Sketch
Joppe is a pro-active, dedicated, entrepreneurial senior environmental professional/manager. He has both a technological economics (Stirling University) and chemical engineering degree (Delft University )and has a broad international experience, including 25 years at Shell (Netherlands, Brunei, Oman and the UK) and six years at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (Geneva) as Water Director.
Over the 25 years at Shell he has been instrumental in improving the environmental and social performance of the company at corporate, operating unit and project level. At the WBCSD he managed a water program for the WBCSD member companies in the area of water stewardship, water efficiency in agriculture, circular use of water and he developed and implemented the WASH pledge for companies.
He is currently a UNEP consultant, a jury member of the GES 2019 ( water), a visiting professor at NTU in Singapore and is member of the Advisory Committee of the Amsterdam International Water Week. He is also board member of Safe Water Gardens Ltd, a Singapore based social enterprise aiming to scale up affordable sewage treatment facilities for remote households .

In this thematical session, we will discuss the current status of the former Amsterdam Agreements, signed in 2017 and new Amsterdam Agreements. To accelerate the transition we need action! With the AIWW we want to encourage sharing challenges and searching for joint solutions. The Amsterdam Agreements, originated from AIWW 2017, support case owners, experts, suppliers and investors for achieving sustainable cooperation, in order to achieve real breakthroughs on water issues. The agreements support new partnerships and scaling up of new solutions and give a concrete approach to work on the sustainable development goals. This session is about the progress made, the challenges faced, road blocks and successes, and the objective to integrate added value of the agreements to most pressing issues which is required to make the next step in the global water world.
